Charlotte Keeney, LCSW

Eleanor is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and the Founder and Clinical Director at Child and Family Therapy Collective. She is a native to Nashville, Tennessee and she attended the University of the South for undergrad and New York University for graduate training. She completed a two year Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics Fellowship at The University of Mississippi Medical Center post-graduate. 

Her expertise includes working with children and teens with selective mutism, social anxiety, autism, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, and oppositional defiant disorder with co-occurring developmental delays.

For 12+ years, she has been integral in developing and replicating selective mutism intensive treatment programs across the country in NY, CA and most recently in MS where she was personally grant funded to replicate and expand the PCIT-SM Intensive Model of treatment. She was the first to bring PCIT-SM to the state of Mississippi where she trained 12 local therapists (and 18 more from all over the world) in the PCIT-SM model under her grant at UMMC in conjunction with the Selective Mutism Training Institute via the Selective Mutism Association. Her career began in 2012 under the direction of Dr. Steven Kurtz in New York, NY, who is still her mentor and dear friend.

Accomplishments in her early career have allowed her to work creatively to make strides for access to care in the southeast. Eleanor was the first to bring both PCIT-SM and TCIT to the state of Mississippi and she built two programs at the University of Mississippi Medical Center for PCIT-SM and TCIT. She has fine-tuned her working model in treatment taking evidence-based care and joining it with family values work to optimize treatment outcomes that is reflective of the evidence base. Her approach is kind, direct and wholistic considering the whole patient and family to assist in growth and positive outcomes.

Eleanor loves to teach and is a therapist trainer in PCIT and global therapist trainer in PCIT-SM. She also is a trainer/coach in TCIT and CARE. Eleanor has trained over 50 clinicians in clinical protocols. She is at her best when she is in the collective experience with a family or trainee. Using this approach of collective information and perspectives allows access to creative learning for all.

In addition to Child and Family Therapy Collective, Eleanor runs our sister company, Eleanor Ezell Consulting, LLC where she trains, teaches and synthesizes her training for families with typically developing children. The Child & Family Learning Lab launched in 2022 to offer psychoeducational workshops to parents all over the world. All families deserve access to research and accessible resources from the experts. In her free time, Eleanor loves to keep active with cycling, hiking, yoga and gardening. She has a knack for DIY projects at home and enjoys the process of learning new skills while solving problems in the design of her own spaces.

Dr. Andrew Rozsa III is a Licensed Psychologist with a diverse background in clinical psychology. He specializes in neurodevelopmental disorders and challenging behaviors in children, adolescents, and young adults. His journey in psychology began at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he developed a keen interest in autism through volunteer work at early intervention centers and neuroimaging research labs.

Dr. Rozsa completed his doctoral training in School Psychology at the University of Southern Mississippi and a pre-doctoral internship at the Tucson Unified School District in Arizona. His Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the University of Florida Department of Psychiatry further honed his skills in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), lifespan psychotherapy, and comprehensive autism evaluations.

With over 15 years of clinical experience across multiple states, Dr. Rozsa has developed expertise in treating a wide range of psychological conditions. His approach integrates evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Dr. Rozsa's professional experience spans various settings, including academic institutions, mental health centers, residential treatment facilities, hospitals, and school-based behavior clinics. He has contributed to the field by developing innovative approaches, such as Therapist-Child Interaction Therapy, a variation of PCIT for applied behavior therapists.

As a certified PCIT Therapist, Dr. Rozsa stands out for his emphasis on positive behavioral strategies, strength-based interventions, and solution-focused techniques in his clinical work. His passion for education extends beyond the therapy room, as he actively engages in community presentations, parent advocacy, and school consultations.

Dr. Rozsa is committed to ongoing professional development and brings a wealth of life experiences to his practice. His background in martial arts training and competitive chess inform his own discipline as well as facilitate teaching concepts such as mindfulness, planning, and inhibition, contributing to a well-rounded approach to patient care and professional collaboration.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Dr. Rozsa maintains an active and diverse set of personal interests. He is a martial arts enthusiast, including Aikido, Taekwondo, and Krav Maga. His passion for continuous learning extends to his hobbies, where he enjoys mastering new dance styles, notably different forms of swing dancing. While no longer competing, Dr. Rozsa still finds joy in playing chess, a game he has been passionate about since childhood. These pursuits provide personal fulfillment and contribute to his holistic mental health and well-being approach.

Charlotte Keeney is a LCSW. Her desire is to help families find balance, calm, and joy.  She wants both parents and children to experience success and to build strong loving relationships. With the use of evidenced-based practices she will come alongside families to help them grow and develop the family relationships they want for themselves. She works with children, adolescents, and adults in the areas of anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, school behavior concerns, and parenting. She is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), SPACE (Supportive Parenting of Anxious Childhood Emotions), Circle of Security, and is being trained in PCIT  (Parent Child Interaction Therapy). Charlotte has over 15 years of professional work with children and families.  She also has 25 years of experience raising her own three children. 

Kristin Mathis, M.S., CCC-SLP

Speech and Language Pathologist

After receiving a bachelor's degree from the University of Kentucky and a master's degree at Miami University, Kristin began her career as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Nashville in 1998. For the past 27 years, Kristin has been providing therapy to children in pediatric rehabilitation settings, schools, and private practice settings. 

 

In 2013, Kristin was introduced to the world of Selective Mutism through a four-year-old little boy. Kristin recognized used her brilliance to find the most effective therapy approach when training was extraordinarily limited on SM. She took off in her work combining excellent behavioral therapy techniques with speech and language techniques to support children with SM. Kristin has since specialized in the treatment of SM for the last decade.

Her experience treating social pragmatic communication disorder, or deficits, matched with the treatment of selective mutism were an excellent match in the therapeutic environment to enhance and optimize SM treatment outcomes.  Before the emphasis of her career being on treating SM, the primary focus had been on understanding and treating the social (pragmatic) communication disorders of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder, and sensory processing disorder. Kristin is an expert in treating SPCD through individual speech-language therapy and through facilitating students' social (pragmatic) language skills in both  individual and group therapy. 

Throughout Kristin’s career she has aligned herself with other professionals in the community to allow collaboration in meeting my students' therapeutic needs. Whether it is co-treating with an occupational therapist, collaborating with psychologists and psychiatrists, or connecting with counselors, Kristin believes that the multi-disciplinary approach is of great benefit to the clinician and the patient. To expand this emphasis on collaboration and community, Kristin joined Eleanor Ezell, LCSW, at Child and Family Therapy Collective in January 2025.  Eleanor and Kristin are expanding the Selective Mutism services across the southeast and providing a multi-disciplinary approach to meeting the communication, social, emotional, and behavioral needs of children with SM and social anxiety. This collaborative team approach allows them to implement multi-disciplinary therapy models that have the evidence-base to support the clinician decision making every step of the way.

Kristin serves as Tennessee's Selective Mutism Association State Coordinator. As an SMA State Coordinator, she works to increase the awareness of selective mutism within Tennessee's medical and educational systems and assist families in meeting their child's therapeutic needs.  With both Kristen and Eleanor in leadership position with the Selective Mutism Association, they are able to increase public awareness of SM and increase community support, particularly in Tennesse and surrounding states. 

 

In addition to providing speech-language therapy, Kristin has vast experience in serving as a presenter and trainer to various organizations. She enjoys working with educational institutions to train their educational teams children's language and social behaviors, training teams on facilitating students' social skills in the classroom, and training professionals on SM  and effective therapies. Kristin has served as a presenter at the Annette Eskind Institute of Learning at Currey Ingram Academy over multiple years. She was recently honored to be the featured speaker at the Tennessee Association of Independent Schools (TAIA) Neurodiversity Conference. In October 2024, connected with various members of the Selective Mutism Association at the annual SMA Conference and presented a seminar on Meeting the Social (Pragmatic) Communication Needs of Students with Selective Mutism. She is dedicated to closing the gaps in how mental health providers and SLP coordinate care for SM.

Kristin as served as regional trainer of the TRIAD Teacher Training/DOE Regional Autism Training Project (2000). She holds a certification in PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) and Interactive Metronome treatment. 

Over the past 10 years, Kristin has focused on expanding her understanding of how anxiety affects children's communication and social abilities. To expand her knowledge and strengthen her expertise in meeting the therapeutic needs of children and adolescents,, she has obtained numerous certifications in treating anxiety in children and adolescents. After observing the challenges of students returning to "normal" school following the COVID-19 epidemic, she completed the School Refusal Training Institute for Providers through the Rockville Therapy Center to address students' school refusal behaviors.
